We need to open our economy safely. Get our residents back to work and more relief for small businesses who are struggling. I will continue to work on attracting new businesses and development to our area that will add jobs and improve local economic activity. As a Rialto City Councilmember, I worked to guide major projects, including transforming the Rialto Airport into the Renaissance Market Place, which provided more shopping and job opportunities to our residents. Because of my experience and homegrown expertise in strengthening the economy of Rialto, I am confident I can do the same for San Bernardino County.
With 6 years in law enforcement, I know that your safety and security will always be a priority for me. As a County Supervisor, I increased funding in public safety by adding additional officers and giving our law enforcement the tools they need. I worked hard to provide funding for a state-of-the-art fire station 226, to improve the safety of our community. I am committed to increasing public safety resources for San Bernardino County so that we can always feel safe. I will work to address violent and property crime by giving our law enforcement the tools they need. This includes investing in afterschool programs and improving police-community relations.
We need to work with the State and the Federal government to ensure we are getting all the resources we need to help those in need, get the care and support needed. I will continue to focus to get our homeless veterans off the street and into shelters or transitional housing. I’ll continue to prioritize using mental health professionals to help –like we did in Rialto by adding social workers to our ranks to assist law enforcement.
I have supported working families in the Inland Empire. When I served in the State Assembly, I had a 100% voting record on labor issues. I’ll fight for working families, especially people struggling due to the coronavirus. We need more rent and mortgage relief for those who struggling to afford a place to live. As we move forward, we will need to create more affordable housing to ensure that young families stay in the Inland Empire. We all deserve to have reliable and top-quality government services.
